BLUE

It all started with trombone at the tender age of 7. From trombone came piano, then guitar, saxophone, drums, bass, and the list goes on. From the jazz band in high school to being the vocal force behind south Miami’s late hardcore quintet, Debase, Blue has definitely made his point heard that music is not his hobby, but his life. “I’m not sure if it was psychologically imprinted in my brain as a child, having a father who is a multi-faceted musician, or a family of talented people, but I’ve never wanted to do anything else, ever.” From hip hop to heavy metal, blue’s passion is what has always set him apart in the eyes of his peers, and the masses. At the age of 25, he has already made his mark in his native Toronto’s underground hip hop scene as the “go to” person; from tracking and mixing in the studio, to album production, beats, songwriting, and composition. Being the creative mind behind Basement Theory; a tightly knit network of artists, producers, dj’s, emcees, and everything in between, it is now his time to shine. Lets make one thing clear though, you will never find his picture on the front page, or see his name in lights, but if you read the credits and fine print 50 years from now, you will come to realize that it was never about fame, but simply a continuing search for the next best thing. “A lot of cats make beats and call themselves music producers, and the sad thing is that most of them have never taken an artist, a page of lyrics, a vision, and gave them the direction and canvass to blossom. Yes I make beats, but it’s more than that, and there is more to it. It’s about good music, and sharing that with good people. That’s what I do.”
